Dancing Machine
We are in to our second day of dance camp and it is so exciting to see all the new, young faces from DMS and CMS dancing right along with us. I love how Jeremy is utilizing the seniors and advanced tappers to mentor and teach the younger kiddos!! :) It is a joy to watch!! :) Also, thank you to the new seniors for stepping up and taking control of the environment and making sure everyone stays focused, committed, and respectful towards listening to Jeremy--y'all are great!! :)

Songs of the Heart
I am no Curtis Harnagel, in terms of song lists, but these floated across my memory today, the last day of class with my graduating seniors:
"Gentle On My Mind"--Glen Campbell
"Renegade"--Styx
"My Daughter's Eyes"--Martina McBride
"Butterscotch Castle"--Captain and Tennille
I will miss you all dearly...best wishes for a beautiful life, hopefully connected to theatre, which connects all of us together!! :)

Freedom...
Rev. Dr. Shelly Brooks said:
"Freedom of speech is NOT a license for rude and thoughtless behavior..."
What a great thought for all of us to think on. We live in such a technologically intimate world that sometimes we may forget that what we are saying is being viewed globally. Privacy is such an important right that we all hold dear. The preservation of our dignity, our name, and our integrity is what this country was founded on.

A New Beginning!! :)
As I head into this final week of school, I am amazed at all the support from both current and former students, staff, and parents in the completion of my fifth year at Southlake. The theatre department continues to grow and the changing of the student guard is an exciting process to watch and participate in...
Aksel is graduating from kindergarten on Thursday...he truly loves school and all his teachers...he is anxiously looking forward to art camp, science camp, and swimming this summer on Tybee Island in Savannah, GA!! :)
